Groovy Tut - Citrus On Ice

Hey Chicks!

So this last look was a bit of a challenge! As you read (I hope!), lovely Chick Quin needed a look to go with an orange dress and silver accessories for a wedding. Well then! Orange and gold, no problem. Warm and warm = easy schmeasy. Orange and silver can be at odds, as one color is vibrant and warm, while the other is icy cool. It also would have been easy to smoke out some orange with charcoal/black, and go all-out drama and pow. But for a wedding? Eh eh. Too much.

So I arrived at this simple look, using primarily an inexpensive product -- also something to consider when designing a look for someone; don't force them to spend a lot of cash to re-create! -- NYX ($5 or less for a single shadow) and a little silver liner for some pop and to continue the accessories' theme. Thus, "Citrus On Ice". Hope you enjoy.

Quick 'N' Groovy - This must be...Pop!

Hey Chicks!

Got a wimpy, low-pigmented eyeshadow that's not showing up? Use a white pencil underneath to make it "pop" and the color more vibrant. Apply a creamier white pencil, blend, and place your shadow over it. You'll see a noticeable difference! Works with all shadow colors.

A good choice, NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in "Milk", about $4.

but nearly any white pencil will do. Behold la difference:

So by all means, get your pop on, and as always
